CRYC Mixed Bowling
On April 16th the CRYC Mixed
Bowling League held its annual banquet in the Commodores
Lounge. It was attended by many of the bowlers and their
spouses after another successful and joyful season at the
Wilton Manors Bowling Salon on 26th St. in Wilton
Manors. The meeting was presided over by president Wayne
Rismiller and secretary Joan Tomlinson and prizes were awarded
to teams and individuals for each half-season and new officers
were elected for the upcoming season.
Our league is open both to
members of the yacht club and friends. Each team
consists of 2 women and two men (whenever possible).
Teams are formed based on averages and handicaps. Beginners
are warmly welcomed. Lee DeVane, one of the principals
at the Salon, has graciously volunteered to give a few basic
lessons to all on a complimentary basis.
The new season will begin in
mid October, however group open-bowling is presently ongoing
on Monday mornings at 9:30 am and Thursdays beginning at 2:30
pm. The league play lasts until mid-April next year and
is divided into two halves each of 12 weeks. Costs will
be determined prior to the start of the league. Last
year it was approximately $240 per half, from which prizes are
awarded to both team members and individuals.
If interested, please contact
Dr. Bob Conti (954-491-5089). We look forward to your
participation. A sign up sheet will be provided at the
front desk in September.
